Why should you do a Yoga workshop?

Indie Yoga LOGOWhy should you do a Yoga workshop?

Simply, because you will learn something. It may be what was intended, or completely by accident, but you WILL learn. You will learn something physical or philosophical. You will learn something abstract or personal. You will learn and grow.

Our classes and workshops will give you the benefit of the doubt, the benefit of new found freedom in your body, the benefit of tools to work with in your regular practice that will develop exponentially.

You will learn something for your body, your mind, and your Spirit. You will learn as much as you are prepared to PULL from the experience.

Whether you are a beginner, first timer, lifetime practitioner, seasoned or new teacher, or the reincarnation of Shiva himself, there is something for everyone! The idea of a “Masterclass”, is that you get to learn some of the tools that you can then master for yourself and develop into your own practice.

We will have fun, we will learn, we will share.

Keep it Real

At Staff Training we pride ourselves on “Keeping it Real”.

This is because as South Africans in business we face problems that are entirely unique to us. Problems that require real solutions to be implemented not next month or in the new quarter but straight away, hence the highly practical approach we bring to all our workshops.

In addition to this we’ve chosen to keep the size of our workshops relatively small (with a max of around 16 delegates) and encourage attendees to bring their own, real, everyday challenges to the table so together we can hash them out and provide real, immediately implementable solutions.

To give you an idea of what this means consider a delegate we recently had attend one of our Stress and Time Management workshops in Cape Town.

This delegate had, three months previously, met us at a Sales Training workshop where he introduced himself as the branch manager of a three-man store that had opened eight months previously.

Month nine he doubled his monthly set target, month ten he nearly doubled what he did in month nine and month 11 again saw him double his set target. Coincidentally this is also when he called up Staff Training for a Stress and Time Management workshop to help him deal with the added stress of the increased sales!

This is music to our ears!

New challenges (like learning to deal with an increase in sales) are a good thing, they mean we’re moving forward and also present us with the opportunity to improve, change bad habits and develop new, better ones.

Staff Training offers more than 30 training workshops, from Assertiveness and Time Management to Receptionists and Managers (and everything in between) either in-house or open hosted across South Africa at highly affordable rates.

Perfect for both individuals as well as entire staff complements (for whom we will customise any workshop to suit the business’s desired outcome) Staff Training’s one- and two-day workshops are geared towards providing real solutions to real problems in the most direct way possible.

Staff Training is a South African soft skills training provider. Visit our website for a full list of our +30 workshops or email info@StaffTraining.co.za for more information.

Empower a Community Today

In the words of Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” At Compuscan Academy we share this vision and believe that through education we can equip communities with the skills to make informed decisions and improve their current living conditions.

It is with this belief in mind that Compuscan Academy launched its Money Management Workshops last year and with which we again this year hope to equip individuals with vital money management and credit knowledge. This year, however, we are asking you to help us reach even more communities in need by nominating a community that you believe will benefit from the financial insight provided during these workshops.

The workshops are based on a uniquely designed training programme intended to increase the overall credit and financial literacy of individuals to help them steer clear of the pitfalls of debt. Workshop goers are exposed to budgeting and credit advice which will assist them to maintain sustained financial independence and credit health. In addition, individuals learn vital savings techniques which will assist in directing them towards a secure financial future.

At all workshops attendees are given the opportunity to receive a free copy of their credit report, provided they bring their ID documents along. On their credit report attendees can see their current creditworthiness status and are provided with critical information on how to improve their credit status to gain access to credit in times of need. Furthermore, the report makes individuals aware of their credit history and how paying their accounts on time can be used to their advantage.

In South Africa, where there is an unemployment rate of over 25% and where over 8.93 million consumers have an impaired credit record (Credit Bureau Monitor, National Credit Regulator December 2011), Compuscan Academy believes that financial literacy is the first step to changing the future of our country and with it doing our bit to bring vision to the words of Nelson Mandela and change the world.

Winter Photography Workshops

Cape Town School of Photography hosts both full-time and a variety of part-time introductory and advanced photographic courses, tailored to address the needs of both film and digital camera enthusiasts.

Classes are small, for personalised training and particular emphasis is placed on individual participation and group interaction. Most of our courses run for the duration of between eight and ten weeks as either morning or evening sessions. We also offer short intensive courses, one-on-one personalised sessions and weekend workshops.

This year Cape Town School of Photography will be nine years old. Since our humble beginnings in 2001 we have burst at the seams of our previous premises and can now look forward to growing into our new space at 62 Roeland Street.

In the interest of establishing a photographic community and providing students with the opportunity to further develop their photographic skill and knowledge, we launched the Friends of Cape Town School of Photography (FOCTSP) in 2009.

Compuscan Academy Hosts Money Management Workshop

On the 9th and 30th May 2011, Compuscan once again chose to make a difference within the local communities. Compuscan joined hands with Community project leader’s Christopher Sloster and Randall Pienaar to bring about an awareness of consumer rights. As part of our community outreach, Compuscan fully sponsored both the events.

A total of 42 people were given the opportunity to be empowered in the following areas:

•    Taking charge of their financial situation
•    Assess and understand their financial status
•    Manage their credit accounts responsible
•    Understand credit bureaus and credit reports

Learners at the workshop were really grateful for the opportunity and had many valued questions. We believe that the learners left with a new perception of credit bureaus and also felt empowered to go out and to educate their family and friends. So in essence those 42 learners will not be using the term blacklist ever again but make more informed decisions.

Compuscan Academy will be doing more of these workshops later this year so watch the space as we come to your area to empower YOU!
