Ajay’s Art Foundation

Ajay’s Art Foundation dedicates itself to teaching drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media to ordinary people without experience as well as those who have become stuck with art work.  Our methods are designed and include the famous ‘Blocking© Method’ which allows you to follow very simple steps from beginning to end, to trace and find mistakes easily and afford you an elementary understanding of how all the elements of art  work together as a whole.  Classes are held in Sandton and Kempton Park and include classes for adults as well as for kids.  We also have anatomy, technique and media workshops – all for beginners.  We have many courses, our most innovative the renowned Course 2 – which changes your perception forever and have long trained people to do portfolios.  Once a month we also have Action Painting where anyone can join for a three hour session and complete a whole painting!

We also do corporate workshops for teambuilding – a long list from 10 to 100 people, special events such as charity exhibition functions, we organize special creative days with catering and entertainment and we also do creative course development for institutions.

Our latest offerings are Painting Holidays at exotic locations for beginners. March 14 – 21 2010 is to the west coast of South Africa.  After an orientation and introductory session at the beach (including brunch) in Paternoster, and kayaking to view the penguins, the seals and the birds through the boulders (optional) you will receive tuition in drawing and painting and creating on location – basics, techniques and tricks that artists use.  Learn to correctly observe movement and colour to create stunning drawings and paintings.

We visit many beaches and selected sights to further your skill at proportioning, observation and tonal rendering.  A pottery session with a local artist is also included. Have lunches and dinners at amazing places and soak up the West Coast cuisine, its people and its unusual landscapes.

Curious experiences, fantastic food and picnic braais, mesmerizing evenings, people and artistry – many training sessions – that’s what it is all about…. Stimulation.

You will visit Tietiesbaai, Jacobsbaai, Darling (with a Pieter Dirk Uys show included), Saldanha Bay (draw boats and the harbour from the quayside!), Go on a boat ride, visit Brittany Bay, Langebaan and the West Coast National Park.  You will also have time to explore and relax by yourself.

Combining art practice with a scenic holiday is a unique and extraordinary experience because it enriches your mind while you are encouraged by scenery, experiences and tuition.  A total of 7 art sessions will be held during the course of the week and is intended for beginner and advanced alike.

Another at Paternoster is planned for August, and other destinations include Mozambique, Namibia, Provence (France) and Nepal.
