Improving your Memory

Having problems forgetting appointments and activities not to mention forgetting birthdays, and even anniversaries? If you are like many people, you will often find yourself forgetting something.

These are some tips to help you improve your memory:

Use your Senses & Be Aware – Use all your sense to create vivid images of your surroundings. This will give your mind more ways to associate when to remember something. Being aware and using all your sense will work as a form of meditation making it easier to remember the smaller things.

Humor & Vulgarity – They teach you when studying to make little poems or sentences when trying to remember key points. This will work the same with using humor to remember specific events.

Don’t worry, be Mindful – Positive thinking is known to full positivity. Thinking negatively often fogs our minds so by thinking positively and clearing our minds it will improve concentration as well as your memory. Stress also causes you to forget things so taking a step back and relaxing will always be a big help.

See the Future – When you have a big event or function happening try to imagine yourself at the function and what it will be like to be at the event and this should help you to remember as it builds excitement about the event.

Associate – Associating something to what you need to remember is one of the easiest tools to use. If you have some information you need to remember associating it to something easy and fun to remember you will never forget it.

Write it Down – Writing things to remember down is often a tedious job but it takes away the stress of remembering what you need to do and clears your mind at the same time making it easier for you to remember certain things.

Using these tools will help improve your memory as well as decrease your stress levels and increase productivity.
