African Resource – The Trouble With Trees

Designed for people who love the bush and want to learn more about it…

The trouble with trees is that they can be really confusing and so many of us get root-bound trying to learn about them!

Three days in the bush with Megan Emmett, professional naturalist and educator, will do the trick and unravel their mystery in an simple and fun way! Did you know that plants are the medicine cabinet to indigenous people who have used them in cultural ceremonies and remedies for centuries? Now learn all about the traditional uses of trees as well as how they fit into bush ecology.

The focus is on the most commonly encountered species. The course includes vibrant presentations on the features of each tree before you head into the bush on a game drive or walk to actually find it and learn more about it. Each participant will receive a copy of “Game Ranger in your Backpack: an all in one interpretative guide to the Lowveld” and will complete a personal botanical portfolio to take home. A percentage of the proceeds will support the Endangered Wildlife Trust and keeping SA’s extraordinary fauna and flora alive!
